82 problems with Prometheus in 4 minutes
It’s no secret that the issues with Prometheus frustrated a lot of people – including us (our review here). Now cinemasins have put together a video that details 82 complaints with the film, and most of them are spot on. Although it has since become apparent that there was a lot of studio interference, taking what was supposed to be an Alien movie and demanding a whole new franchise from Scott, that still doesn’t explain the weak characters, poor dialogue and ludicrous plot holes. Or the other 82 problems the video lists (top of the list for me is Noomi Rapace stumbling around covered in blood and no-one batting an eyelid, but there are so many more…)
Anyway, thanks to cinemasins, you now don’t have to sit through Prometheus again to remind yourself exactly what annoyed you about it the first time – just hit play. Warning: MAJOR spoilers throughout, so if you haven’t seen it and plan to then don’t watch it.
What do you think, fair or not? Has Prometheus bashing gone too far and will it, like Blade Runner before it, be looked back on in a few years time as a misunderstood classic? It wouldn’t be the first time that Ridley has turned things round, after all.
