Stan Lee, the legendary godfather of Marvel comics, has confirmed he will not be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Having made humorous appearances in most of Marvel’s big-screen adaptations, including the original Spider-Man trilogy, the rebooted Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Incredible Hulk, The Fantastic Four, and all of the Avengers films, Lee has distanced himself from the same happening on the intergalactic Guardians.
In an interview with Dweebcast, when quizzed on the possibility of a cameo, Lee stated: “No, I’m afraid not. This is the one group I didn’t create. I didn’t write Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m not even sure who they all are. I can’t wait to see the movie.”
So it seems Stan will be giving this one a miss. However, still seeming as energetic and enthusiastic as ever even at the grand old age of 91, Lee will be appearing in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as voice acting in the new Marvel TV series The Mighty Seven, described by Stan himself as ‘the world’s first reality superhero story’.
